Wow, can't believe that the Friends of Mike event is one week away! The committee has been working very hard so if you haven't reserved your tickets for either golf or dinner, I'd love to see you there! Update on the family: Thomas got his G2 so he is now driving on his own.....yikes! He will be in grade 12 next year (if he actually passes). Jaclyn will be graduating from grade 8 this year and she got a really pretty grad dress..when did she grow up? Erica has her cheerleading national championship competition this weekend and I'm very impressed with her group, the UCC Lynx. I hope they do well! I'll have to give you more of an update later, gotta go and do some baking!

What an incredible group of people we have in our lives! Friends of Mike was a huge success. We had 82 golfers and 300 people attending the dinner/silent auction. I am so proud of the committee who worked so hard to make the day successful and there were so many other people and organizations and companies that donated or helped in some way. It is really overwhelming to see such a large number of people supporting us and a really wonderful feeling too! I hope to put a link to some pictures from the event in the near future. My thanks to everyone who played a role in making the Friends of Mike event a great one! I had an awesome time and hope everyone else did too!

This is the third week in a row that I have been travelling for work and I am tired. So much to do with my job - still enjoying but wishing that it would slow down a bit so that I can catch my breath. The kids are good but wishing that a certain 17 year old would be more responsible and respectful....is that too much to ask? Apparently. Sorry, just felt the need to vent a bit and now off to bed since I have another full day in the Chicago office tomorrow. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed on Friday night!

www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryanwillin/journal/1The above link is a site where one family"s journey with FTD has been documented by wife Tia and has now ended. The Willin family went through much anguish and pain during the time that Ryan (husband) was ill. Tia and Ryan have 4 children. Ryan passed away yesterday, he was 39 years old.

Thomas and a couple of hundred other people of Japanese descent took part as extras in Resident Evil IV! Thomas had his long hair cut off and now has a brushcut. He worked for 3 days (actually all nighters) and is still tired. Movie is scheduled to come out late next summer I think.

Erica's cheerleading group (UCC Bearcats) just placed first in the Fall Classic competition, won the Spirit Award and the Grand Championship with the most points in their level. They did an awesome job and I'm very proud!
